photos of former military pool (Mili)
The following photos show the former military pool (Mili) for the garrison of Delmenhorst, used until 1945. At the southern shore of Delmegrundsee a rectangular area with concrete pavings, starting blocks and pool ladders was constructed. Construction works started on May 18th 1936. The bath was used by soldiers from Caspari Kaserne as well as from hut camp in Duesternort. The airbase in Adelheide had its own open-air pool.
From 1945 until its closing in 1968 the pool was used by the general public.
